New Haven, Connecticut – August 25, 2009 – Woodbridge Group, Inc., a leading mergers and acquisition firm serving middle market companies, has rolled out a new Charlotte, North Carolina office headed by Jameel Barkat. Mr. Barkat is an experienced dealmaker with expertise in the aerospace and defense industries.
As Senior M&A Advisor, Jameel will focus on Woodbridge's mandates throughout the Southeast, along with Ernie Bower in Atlanta and Dan Smith in Washington, D.C, as well as managing assignments in the aerospace/defense industry throughout the country.
Prior to joining Woodbridge, Jameel worked for Curtiss-Wright Controls, where he completed numerous acquisitions and led the company's M&A and strategic development programs. Earlier in his career, Jameel served as Senior Project/Design Engineer for a private manufacturer of mechanical components for the aerospace, defense and industrial markets and worked as a Design Engineer for McDonnell Aircraft (now Boeing). Jameel holds an MBA from Duke University, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University, and a BA in Mathematics from Drew University.
